Quality Commissioning Process
VSC Group has considerable experience commissioning a wide variety of projects, and have a clear understanding of the requirements, and standards for quality control.
To be successful, the commissioning program must include the following:
A clear description of the roles of individuals and their responsibilities must be established. Commissioning of the systems must include all system requirements to ensure that the entire system is commissioned.
Ideally commissioning starts during the design stage. We will participate with the Design Team in offering commissioning documentation for contract documents.
No two buildings are alike and the commissioning program must be customized to meet the specific requirements of the facility.
A commissioning index must be created identifying each piece of equipment that will be commissioned. It must be organized and broken down into subsystems. As the commissioning progresses, the system index should be utilized to track progress of the commissioning program.
The commissioning program must occur throughout the construction period to ensure that the deficiencies are identified in a timely manner. This provides sufficient time for the Mechanical Contractor to rectify the deficiencies without delaying the project. We recommend that the commissioning program be broken down into the following:
Receipt Check Sheets to be completed when the equipment arrives.
Installation Check Sheets to be completed when the equipment/systems are installed prior to start-up.
Performance Check Sheets to be completed when the systems are operating.
The information obtained from the equipment nameplates must be complete so it can be input directly into the Building Preventative Maintenance program without the requirement for the Building Operator to go to the equipment to obtain additional information.
The reports provided by Contractors such as the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Contractor must be thoroughly reviewed and any deficiencies rectified.
